RIP Ethan

If you've been watching the news in UT you have seen the horrific story about Ethan Stacy, the 4 year old boy who was brutally murdered by his stepfather and mother after being here for only 10 days. I've been following the story since the mother reported him "missing" to police. My heart went out to her at the time. I thought of how I would feel if my son or nephews were missing. As the story went on and all the details were released, my heart grew heavy and I couldn't help but hurt for that innocent child and what he endured at the hands of his stepfather. It takes a special kind of evil to do that to a child. It's hard as a mother to not get emotional about this. The more I think about it the more upset I get. All I can do is trust that there will be justice for Ethan Stacy both in this life and in the next. Grandpa, look over poor Ethan.

Finally At Home!!

Mike and Jax are so freaking cute!! Here are some pics of us at the park and in the front yard. Mike is so proud of our green grass lol

Week 1 at home started out kind of rough... We got notice from our mortgage company that we were denied for the home modification loan we applied for which is no bueno! Without that our house payment is too great for me to stay home and not work. We hired a company that specializes in those types of loans so hopefully we'll be approved in the next month... I'll keep you posted!

Besides the house drama being at home has been wonderful! I'm already totally addicted to Jaxson. He's learned so much and he learns more and more every day. I'm so grateful to have this time with him.

I started Mary Kay this week! My sister Danielle started it last week and I was helping her get parties set up and everything and I decided to go ahead and do it too! I'm setting my goal to be making 400 dollars a month by October in hopes that I can return to work part time instead of full time. Again, we'll see how that goes. If you or anyone you know uses Mary Kay and doesn't already have a consultant, please let me know and I'd be glad to help them. I'm relying on my girlfriends to get me started in this business by hosting parties or just referring a friend for a party. I'm sure you'll be hearing from me sometime in the near future :)

Mike's Going to School!

Mike went and enrolled at Weber State today! We're so freaking excited! Since he's Navajo he'll have his school and expenses paid for. We don't have to pay a dime for him to go to school! And to make it even better, he won't have to be working so no more fear about getting laid off. This makes such a big difference in our futures and the future of our family. I'm SO PROUD of you Mike, I love you!

Jaxson's Birthday!!

Last week we celebrated Jaxson's first birthday. We had party for him at Sparetime so all the adults could bowl and play. Then we had cake at the house after. Jaxson's cake was so cute! It's late, I'm bored...

I'm too bored to watch TV. I should really go to sleep.

So it's like an hour until my 5th anniversary and Mike and I are in separate rooms "mad" at one another. I say "mad" because we were mad but it's been long enough that we're not really mad anymore, we're just waiting for the other to cave... Don't judge, it works for us lol.
Seriously though... 5 freaking years. Each one was totally different than the next, and yet stuff seems kinda the same? Weird how life works huh. I love that kid like crazy (yes I called Mike a kid, wouldn't you???). He really is the best husband I could ever hope for. I'm not what you'd call "low-maintenance" so you gotta give the guy props for sticking around this long! ;) We've had a great time so far and now that we have Jax in the mix, things are bound to get even better! Totally just lost my train of thought... Oh well haha!

Oh yeah back to the anniversary thing. So I have no idea what to get Mike! I want it to be something significant since it's 5 years but also romantic and something he wants... I don't know if there is such a thing but if you get any ideas feel free to share.

Well the meds I took for my lady parts are finally kicking in so I'm calling it a night (TMI I know but get over it).

Yay for 5 Years!

Well things are going a little rocky but getting better. Mike has had a couple of interviews and has another today. Tomorrow he has an appointment with Weber State to see about going to school. If that stuff doesn't look good he'll look into being a police officer... that's my last choice lol. He has a great attitude about the job search so it's hard not to also. I'm sure Mike will have something very soon and maybe I'll be able to be home eventually.

Mike and I are celebrating our 5th anniversary on Thursday, February 18th. I can't believe it's been 5 years already. It seems like it went by in the blink of an eye, but at the same time so much has changed it's hard to believe we did all that in 5 years lol. We're celebrating by going to the same place we stayed on our 1st anniversary, The Lodge at Stillwater in Park City. He's taking me snowboarding for the first time! I'm excited and terrified haha! I'm not the most coordinated person lol. We're going to have so much fun!

FINALLY!!!

Holy freaking crap it's finally here! I officially requested to go part time at work!! It was a hard decision to make with the all the economic crap going on since going part time also means going seasonal... YIKES! Mike's reassured me a hundred times that we can do it and everything will be great. I'm just scared that he'll get laid off again, only this time I won't be working at TaxWorks to get us through it... I just can't stay working full time... It's killing me! I miss Jaxson too much and I'm missing so much. I freaking love Mike for making this possible! He's so great to me all the time... Lord knows he puts up with a lot from me haha. I'm not what you would call "Low Maintenance." Mike is just the perfect person, my perfect match. I think God made him just for me because he knew how crazy I'd be and that no one else would want to deal with all that haha! I don't care how he got here or why, as long as he's here. How great is it to marry your best friend??? I can tell you first-hand it's freaking awesome!

Hola!! Here I am posting again, go me. Work has been crazy but that's just how it is here. I switched my schedule to work 11-8 instead of 8-5. I'll get to see Jax more and my mom won't have to babysit as much. I won't get to see Mike as much as I do now but we're making time for one another during my "lunch" break and nights and weekends. Mike will get alone time with Jax and so will I and by the time I get home Jax will be asleep so Mike and I can hang out together. I love being married to my best friend! It makes everything better. Just sitting at home is fun when you're with your favorite people. Home life has been awesome as usual. Jaxson is so into walking and being a big kid. He likes and wants anything Dad does or has. He's gonna be just like Mike when he grows up I can already tell. Jax is learning new things all the time and OMG is it fun to be the one teaching him! Mike and I play with him and laugh almost the whole time because of how he reacts to everything we're so used to. I'm sure it's all typical kid stuff but it's just better when it's YOUR kid. He looks at everything with those innocent, curious eyes. Now I know what they mean when they say having kids keeps you young.
Everything else is pretty much the same. Mike and I working.... waiting for our tax refund YAY! Things are still broken with Mike's parents. We haven't spoken to them since before Christmas and they haven't shown any interest in talking so we're just leaving it at that. Mike's pretty much over it; he's used to this crap from his parents. I wish I could say the same. I'm still pissed! That's just how I am though. They suck. I hate them for the way they treat my family. For the record: You could not buy a better grandchild. UGH! We're so much better off this way... unfortunately. I wish I had cool in laws like my parents lol

Tax Season Sucks

Man I hate work. Like, seriously hate it. Tax season is in full swing which means lots of work, angry CPA's, and stressed out coworkers. NO FREAKING BUENO!! Good thing it's only for 4 months of the year.

So Jaxson is walking pretty great now. He wobbles a little but he's definitely got the hang of it. He gets the cutest look on his face. I'm so proud of my little guy! He knows new things now too. If I ask him "Are you hungry?" he says "UH!" haha which pretty much means yes. He knows what milk is and the sign for it too. We got him to finally give out high 5's too which I absolutely love! Jax has always been a brat when it comes to giving loves or kisses. He's snobby lol. I'm glad he'll give out 5's generously... makes me feel more loved lol. I spent a lot of time with Jax over the holidays and it made me hate work so much more. I miss him like crazy all day! Once again, I hate all you stay at home moms...

For some reason I can't upload any pictures from my work computer... I have so many cute pictures of Jaxson but I guess you'll have to wait to see them.

I'm so bored I don't even care what the title of this is

Let's see... So many things to say and yet nothing comes to mind. I'll start with hating my job. But that seems like something I say all the time and isn't what you would call "interesting." My kid took his first steps this week. We got it on film yesterday ("film" meaning my phone...). He took 4 steps in all with a brief pause to regain balance in the middle. He'll be 10 months old this Sunday. WTF. I've said this before, it's not fair. Why do they have to grow and change so fast? No freaking bueno. I'm being a total mom and everything but is it weird that Jaxson doesn't clap or splash or talk much? He makes plenty of noise but he almost never does that baby chatter thing... I hate not knowing if something is really wrong or not. I guess I could look it up online? Nah, too lazy. It's all I can do to update this blog. I'm so ridiculously lazy... and totally ok with it! I'll try to upload some pictures of Jax but the last few times I've tried it didn't work and I gave up. We'll see.
