Home For The Holidays

Mike and I had a great time on Christmas Eve at my mom and dad's house. We were all there with the exception of Amanda and Jason and their kids who live in Grenada. They called us using Skype and we were able to say "Hi" and "Merry Christmas" and the kids got to see their cousins.

We had a great time decorating gingerbread houses... well, technically they were graham cracker houses lol. Mike built our house and we both decorated it.

All the kids had little houses to decorate too and as far as I can tell they had a fun time. My brother Ryan made a house and the only decorations were one gingerbread man hanging from the top of the house and another headless inside it... It was quite morbid but he thought it was hilarious. Needless to say we didn't show the kids that one lol.

After dinner we took turns opening gifts that we had gotten for eachother. We all had so much fun, especially the grandkids. They were so excited to open their gifts and start playing right away.

On Christmas day Mike and went to his parent's house for dinner and games. We had a delicious meal thanks to his mom. After dinner the boys played video games and Mike's mom Willey and I played a few games of Yahtzee (which I lost all of lol). To end the night we all watched Jingle All The Way with Arnold Schwarzenegger. All in all Mike and I had a great Christmas with family and can't wait til next year when we can share it all with Jaxson. Happy Holidays everyone!

3 Pounds!!!

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and it was so nice to see Jaxson again. Our doctor said he's about 16 inches long and about 3 pounds! We were so glad to hear that he's growing strong and well. We're still looking at March 10th as my due date which seems sooo far away! We can't wait for him to finally be here in the flesh.

What about this one...?

I think I like this one a lot better... but this one costs about 130 dollars more than the other one. I think Mike will like this one a whole lot better too.

What do you think?

So I'm trying to think of how I want the nursery to look... Here's a picture of a pretty simple bedding set that I think I like. Picture the room with kind of dusty blue walls and tan carpet. Our crib is tan also. I'm thinking it might be too much blue... Tell me what you think...

It's Been A While...

It's been a while since we posted but here's a small update. Mike and I have been having a great time getting the house ready for Christmas. We have most of our decorations up in the house but we're missing one thing... a tree! Mike and I have sort of spoiled our Christmas this year and have already opened and are using our presents and because of that we have put off getting a tree since there's nothing to put under it. Mike thought of a good idea for this year which is to get a smaller artificial tree for decoration and in future years we could use it as Jaxson's own Christmas tree for his bedroom. I loved the idea and so that is the plan. I'll post some pictures once we have the tree up and decorated.

Over the weekend Mike had another football game and I am happy to report he didn't get injured this time! He's still recovering from his knee injury from two weeks ago so thankfully he hasn't gone in the game full strength... that seems to be when he gets hurt. He loves football so much that the injuries don't really slow him down a whole lot.

Finally, Jaxson seems to be doing great. He's still very active and getting bigger (or at least I assume since my belly is getting bigger). I have a doctor's appointment at the end of the month and I hope we can get some good ultrasound pictures. If we do I'll be sure to post some of them.

Baby Update

I had a doctor's appointment on Monday and we got to see Jaxson again. The doctor said everything is going great and that Jaxson is about 1lb 12oz right now and very healthy. He speculated that we will have an average sized baby, about 7 or 8 pounds at birth, because he is showing average at every visit so far. You have no idea how glad I am to hear that! I was afraid of having a 10lb baby lol. We tried to get another 3d ultrasound picture of his face but Jaxson was hiding behind his legs. His feet were up over his head and his legs were up in front of his face. Talk about flexibility! It's getting hard to see him in the ultrasounds now. We usually just get glimpses of limbs. It will be nice once he's here and we can see the whole thing!

Holiday Fun

Mike and I had a great holiday weekend. We had Thanksgiving with my parents and brothers. We had a great time. Friday night we were able to go to another Grizzlies game thanks to Mike's parents who have season tickets but were unable to use them because they went to visit relatives in New Mexico for the holiday. We invited my parents to the game too and I'm pretty sure they had a great time.

Mike had another football game on Saturday. Instead of leading the defense, which is what he usually does, he was playing offense. There were a couple of bad mistakes from our team that lead to touchdowns for the opposing team. All in all our guys played well. Mike got injured in the second half and twisted his knee. He's fine now but will have to spend this next week or more nursing it back to full strength.
Well that's all for now. Happy holidays!

Good Times

This past weekend was a good one. Mike and I got so much done and still had time to play. It's been a while since I have had the energy to complete any household projects or run many errands. We decided to put up some much needed shelves in our garage so we could organize it and get all the storage out of the house and in the garage where it belongs. Just in case anyone else is looking to do the same thing here's a helpful tip: don't buy pre-made shelves. We went to Lowes and were looking at getting pre-made shelves and to do 8 shelves it would have cost us over 150 dollars. Instead we decided to buy sub-flooring in sheets and cut it to size. I'm so glad we did that instead. The total ended up being less than 50 dollars. My favorite part of this whole thing is the smell of my garage lol. I LOVE the smell of the wood we bought. I could stand in there doing nothing, just sniffing, for hours lol. That's gotta be a pregnancy symptom right? :)

Mike and I also decided we needed a new tv. A couple of years ago Mike won a big screen tv in a drawing at the gym we went to but that tv is kind of stone age now lol. It's a projection tv and we recently broke where the satellite plugs in so watching tv on it is kind of a pain. We also realized he and I have never purchased a tv together. So, we decided Christmas would come early this year and we went and bought a nice plasma tv that actually works! Mike was sooooo excited! He is excited for the superbowl even more now.

Speaking of football Mike had another game last Saturday. The Aces (his team) played the Scorpions who just happen to be the best team in the league. Mike did so awesome! He's the captain of the defense so he basically got to decide who does what. He got like 15 tackles in the game. I had so much fun watching him play and this time I was all pissed off. Last week the team wasn't playing well together and they were making a lot of mistakes. This week they played like a team and the defense really got the job done. Unfortunately the offense is still lacking a little bit and they couldn't get us quite there but they also did much better than last week. Mike's brother Mark got a mild concussion and had to go to the hospital but he's ok now. I'm looking forward to next week's game. Our coach talked to the other team's coach and found out that a lot of their strategy for next week's game is to stop Mike. He got some attention at this last game and he has people worried. Awesome! lol

Football and Ripped Pants

Not much has happened as far as baby news since the last time I posted. Mike and I are just getting things ready for little (or not so little) Jaxson to make his grand entrance. :)

Mike's arena football team the Aces had their first game last Saturday. My brother Chris and my friend Mary and her family came out to support him which was awesome! He has a game every Saturday at the Sportsplex which is right across the street from my work. The Aces lost their first game which was pretty rough but Mike and his brothers, who also play with the Aces, did a great job. I got pretty into the game which kind of surprised me... I'm not exactly a fan of football... but I am a HUGE fan of Mike! I plan on going to all his games and having a great time. Fans, friends, and family are welcome to come support him too. It costs 5 bucks to get in which is pretty lame but I say it's worth it.

So I know this is dumb to write about but I'm upset! I totally ripped my pants at work today on my desk key! The key originally had some plastic covering the sharp edges but has since broken off. Well the key was in my desk drawer and I went to get up from my desk and I snagged and ripped my jeans on the stupid metal key! Now to most people this would be annoying but nothing major... well me being pregnant and not wanting to go shopping for bigger pants or even worse, maternity pants, I am down to 2 pairs, now 1 pair of pants that still fit me. This is a tragedy! Not only am I down a nice pair of jeans, but now I have to go through the humiliation of buying pants while pregnant... and if by some miracle I find some that fit me well and actually compliment me, chances are they won't fit me 2 weeks from now anyway! Well I thank anyone who read this and sympathized with me... even though I know you're all really just laughing at me but at least you're laughing!

I've added in some pictures of my furry kids Cena and Kronk. Aren't they cute?

Our Little Man!

We had another doctor appointment today and it was my targeted ultrasound. Basically the ultrasound technician looked at all of the baby to make sure all the organs and everything look ok. She said he's a healthy baby and still a boy lol. She did a 3d ultrasound too but Jaxson was moving around so much we didn't get a very good picture of his face. I'm posting the few pictures we got that don't look as creepy hehe.
Jaxson Sucking His Thumb

Here's the best picture we got of Jaxson. You can see both his hands up by his face and he's sucking his thumb. You can see almost all of his right arm too. In my opinion it looks like he's smiling at his mom and dad too :)
Jaxson's Face
This picture looks kind of weird but it was the only picture of Jaxson without his hands in front of his face. Apparently our little man likes to hide behind his hands lol.
Jaxson's Massive Leg

Ok, even the nurse was impressed by this one. This little man already has buff legs. His thigh is on the right and you can see the whole leg down to the foot. We (my mom and sister Amanda) were all joking when we saw this hoping he wouldn't be too massive to deliver. I'm just glad we have a healthy baby boy!

Grizzlies Game

Mike and I went to the Grizzlies game on Saturday and it was a lot of fun. They unfortunately lost... but we still had fun. That was the first hockey game I have ever been to and now I know why people like it! The teams got into a fight halfway through the game and it was awesome. The coaches even started yelling at each other. The crowd was going crazy! Here are some pictures of the players. They had a couple of people play sumo hockey during halftime or intermission or whatever they call it, which was hilarious.

Hello!

Ok here are a few ultrasound pictures of our little guy Jaxson. If you're a woman who has had children or even seen a live ultrasound you can probably tell what you're looking at. For everyone else I tried to point it out but good luck lol.
So yesterday was actually pretty awesome. Jaxson was really active and was kicking me hard enough that I could see my tummy move a little bit. Mike was actually able to feel him without asking if that was him or not. He must have been doing somersaults too because it felt like I was going down a huge hill on a rollercoaster. It was awesome! I can't get enough of feeling him move. It makes me feel like he's really there and everything is going ok. I can't wait to start actually decorating his room. I don't want to start buying things until I know what exactly is needed... this is my first baby so I could go buy lots of stuff that isn't really as important as other things and have no clue. Any advice or free stuff is greatly appreciated lol.

It's a boy!!!
Here is Jaxson at 18 weeks. For those who aren't sure what they're looking at I'll try to help. The top right portion is his abdomen and the dark circle in the abdomen is his heart. His head is further to the right but not in the picture. His knees are bent and you can see most of his left leg. The area between is his manhood lol. Yes, indeed we are having a boy!

Jaxson's Profile

Here's a picture of Jaxson from the side. He's facing down in this one. You can see his spine and his leg curled in front of him. You can kind of see his brain which freaks me out a little lol. He's a lot bigger here than in his 14 week pictures.

Jaxson at 18 weeks

Here are a few pictures of Jaxson's face... ish. They're kind of creepy because you mostly see his skull and he kind of looks a little like an alien but I still think he's cute!

There's A First Time For Everything!

Ok so I never thought I would enter the world of blogging but there's a first time for everything. I don't have any ultrasound pictures on here yet but I will soon. We have had 2 ultrasounds of Jaxson so far. I love seeing him but all it does is make we want him here even more. I have been feeling his kicks and punches for about a month now and Mike has been able to feel him for about a week. So far feeling him move around is my favorite part of being pregnant. All the other stuff I'm sure I'll warm up to... I hope! Mike and I have started putting together the nursery but still have a long way to go. This whole parenting thing is going to be a huge challenge but we're both excited to try.
