Jaxson is getting so big! We had his 9 month checkup this week and he's in the 25th percentile for weight, height and head size. The doctor said everything looks great as far as development and all that. Jax has been sick for like 2 weeks but he's FINALLY feeling better. Having a sick baby is no good! He's learned a few new things too. He says "Dada" and "Mama" which is just so freaking cute! He whispers it too. I can't believe how much he's changed. He isn't walking yet and it looks like it will be a while before he does. He loves to stand and walk holding on to us and furniture and stuff but his legs aren't strong enough to hold him up while he takes a step. I'm totally ok with him not walking though. I want to keep my baby as long as I can which won't be much longer lol.
Christmas is coming fast! Mike and I have Jaxson's stuff already but we haven't gotten much for one another yet. The stuff I want is stuff like clothes and a new pair of earphones and stuff like that so I'm not very concerned about having them for Christmas morning lol. I don't know yet what I'm going to get Mike since he's only told me like 2 things and they're both kinda big... a riding lawnmower and a new toolbox. Maybe he should write Santa?? hehe
Other than that things are ok. Mike has been working and is liking it well enough. I'm still working full time right now and still plan on going part time soon. It all depends on my other job lined up and financial need. It's been so great lately with Mike back to working full time. Our home life is more normal now. Before it was like I was the dude going to work and he was the chick staying home with the kid lol. Things are back to normal and the whole family vibe is great. We've had a lot of crap go on lately with his family but we've gotten through it and are moving passed it. If we can make it through the holidays everything will be golden!
Well that's really all for now I guess...

Holiday Stuff

Things are going pretty good at the Colletti house. Mike and I are getting ready for our first Christmas with Jaxson. We got him a few things over the weekend and I'm so freaking excited to give them to him! I had to wrap them right away so I would be less tempted to cheat and give them to him now... I'm the worst at waiting! Anyway, I still have to get Mike's gifts which is harder since we do most everything together. I have a few ideas of what he'd like but we'll see what makes the cut lol. Mike and I are having a small Christmas party this year too, mostly because I love how my tree turned out and I wanna show my friends lol. It should be fun though. I'll be really busy the next few weeks getting the party ready and all the gifts done. It's going to be such a fun Christmas though since it's finally not just Mike and I and the dogs. Christmas is for children after all and I finally have one to share it with! I get to be the one telling all the stories that come with the holidays... not this year as much as the next few lol. I don't think he'll remember anything I tell him for a while. :)

Stuff
I haven't posted for a while so I guess I should... lol.
Mike's indoor football team had their first game of the season last Saturday and the smoked them! It was like 34 to 14 or something like that (they didn't have a scoreboard). Things look really good for the team this year so we're pretty excited.
Mike's been working for a few weeks at a shop in Salt Lake. So far everything's working out great. I was planning to go part time where I work to be home with Jaxson more but then work said they couldn't do that unless I changed from permanent to seasonal but that would leave me with no job after April 15th. We're still deciding what to do about all that but hopefully we'll know soon.
Jaxson is growing up so fast I can't believe it! He'll be 9 months old on the 10th. He's so much freaking fun. He loves standing up and tries to walk all the time even though he doesn't have the balance and ends up falling on his butt anyway. He also really likes that jumper thing I bought for him. Now that he has more leg strength he likes to play in that all the time. As much as I love all the new things he does and likes, I still miss my little guy. He's so different now than he was it's like he's a totally different kid. He still LOVES his dad. If he hears Mike he has to find him. He likes to do everything Mike does too which is SO cute. I can just see how he's going to be when he's older... Daddy's Little Helper!
This year for Thanksgiving Mike and I decided we wanted to start doing our own dinner. We planned to do the whole thing like all the sides and everything... yeah totally didn't happen lol. I'm a procrastinator and we waited way too long to buy the stuff and decided to just crash my mom's dinner instead. Holy best idea ever! My parents had a deep fried turkey for the first time this year and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I think it may have ruined Thanksgiving for me... I don't think I'll be able to eat a roasted turkey again... lol. After Thankgiving Mike and I got our Christmas tree all set up and all the light and decorations too. It looks so good! We changed our colors this year too. Since we've been together we've always done blue and silver on the tree but this year we did red and silver. I love how it turned out so much I decided to have a Christmas party so I can show it off lol. I took pictures but for some reason they won't upload... oh well.
Well I think that's all for now so hopefully it's enough!

Jaxson's New Skill!
So much has happened since my last post I'll have to break them up. I'll start with Jax who has mastered the art of standing up without holding onto anything. He can also do it all by himself! I'll turn around and instead of him crawling or sitting with his toys he'll be standing up next to them not holding on or anything! He can even regain his balance too which is so awesome! He still falls a lot but the whole diaper thing makes for an easy landing usually. I can't believe how much he's learned in the last couple of weeks. He's starting to paying attention to where I put things like my phone or whatever. I used to be able to just put it somewhere out sight and he'd forget it and move on to something else. Recently he's been watching me and the other day he totally saw me hide my phone under my coat and waited til I wasn't paying attention and made a break for it! Luckily I caught the little guy before too much slobber infested my pretty pink phone. He's also starting to use objects instead of just trying to eat them. He has a toy cell phone and he was hitting it on his toy piano to make it make noise instead of using his hands. Stuff like that is what creeps up on me. I notice the big stuff right away like crawling and standing but all the little things go unnoticed and pile up until one day I just look at my kid and he's older, smarter and bigger then he was before and I think "When did that happen?!" I'm sure I have LOTS more moments like that to come lol. We were able to get some pictures of Jaxson standing on his own the first time he did it all by himself so I'll post them when Mike sends them to me.

That's Right Baby! Booyah!
Mike started his new job today!! For those of you who don't already know the story here goes. Mike's previous employer wanted to make sure all his employees had a job when the shop was shut down. Mike told him he another job sort of lined up and to worry about the other guys first. Well Mike ended up getting laid off from the job he had lined up too and was unemployed until recently when his ex-boss called him and said he had a job for Mike. He had been looking for a job for Mike ever since he was laid off at the first of the year. He said he knew the type of Mike work did and wanted something he could advance in and that's why it took so long. I couldn't freaking believe it when Mike told me about the phone call. It seriously all happened in one morning. Mike called and told me his ex-boss called and had an interview set up at 2pm that day. Mike went in for the interview and called me at 216pm. I thought to myself it was either really good or really bad lol. It ended up being great! He had the job before he walked in the door and his new boss was so impressed with Mike (everybody is!) that he only needed 15 min to start the paperwork and 10 of that was him giving Mike a tour of the shop lol. I'm so freaking excited about this. What makes it even more "meant-to-be-ish" is the night before on the way home from work, I told Mike I had decided to reduce my work schedule to part time. He agreed with me and we started talking about how we were going to make up the extra 10 hours a week that I would no longer be working. The next day a job practically falls in Mike's lap and says "Pick me! Pick me!" Can we say "instant gratification?" lol. Mike's so glad to finally be working again. Not only does he get his alone time back, he's also working in a place that he can advance in. It's not like other shops where he already knew how to do everything the shop does. This time he's in a place that he can learn from and with every new job he learns comes more money too. This isn't even the end of the happy thought either! Mike's still trying out for college football which leads to other opportunities for our family. The Colletti family is on a new roller coaster and we're just starting the climb to the first big drop... Wish us luck!

Well That Sucks...
Well that sucks... My boss decided to end the work at home program we've had for about 3 years now. I never really wanted to work from home until I got pregnant and my priorities changed. I worked from home for the last 3 or so months of my pregnancy but by the time my maternity leave was up they had decided to pull the work at home people back in with promise of sending us back home come January. Well they changed their minds. No more working from home in my PJs. :( Stupid work. I was so upset about this when I found out because I REALLY hate being a full time working mom. I love Jaxson and I want to be the one to raise him. Mike and I talked about this for quite a while and at first it was more like a pity party than a conversation. It was full of "poor me's" and "it's not fair's" but in the end we came to realize how great we really have it. Mike and I are happily married with the most beautiful baby boy we could ever hope for. We have a roof over our head and food on the table. I want to be there with Jaxson but my job is to take care of him and make sure he's ok and right now that means working. How selfish would I be to quit or go part time before we can afford it? In the end that would only hurt Jaxson and my family. Mike and I are still working things out so I can go part time in January but I'm glad we sat down and talked about the real possibility that I will have to stay working full time. I know how hard it has been for him this whole time. If you know Mike you know he's not really the "stay-at-home-Dad" type of guy lol. He's so excited for January to come. He and his brothers are trying out for Weber State and U of U's football teams. He's almost positive he will make Weber's team but I'm making sure he doesn't just settle for the first thing that comes around. Mike going to school is one of the best things he can do for this family and I'm SO excited for him! Since he's Navajo there are additional scholarships he can apply for and all that. He's been talking to counselors and stuff to get ready and because of his GPA and high test scores it will be very easy for him to get enough money to pay for school and probably living expenses too. As soon as I decide what I want to go to school for I'll be there with him. Too bad we got a 5 year late start on the college thing but better late than never, right? :)

Jaxson's Halloween
Jaxson had 3 Halloween costumes this year. One of them was a frog costume that I already posted pictures of here. The other two were a skeleton and a penguin. My favorite was the penguin by far. If I had known how freaking cute it was I would have dressed him in that for my work party instead of the frog...
Anyway here's my super-adorable Jaxson in his penguin costume. It's not possible for him to get any more perfect!

Love that expression!

Here's a picture of the kids all dressed up for Halloween. It was too warm in there from all the people so I took Jax's frog costume off. We had such a fun Halloween this year. Mike and I have already thought of a couple of ideas for next year that include crab people lol. We'll see what we can come up with by then.

Here are some pictures we have taken over the last couple of weeks. Jaxson is learning so many new things to fast it's hard to keep track. The day after he crawled on his hands and knees he started standing up to anything and everything. He's getting really good at it and has even stood on his own for a few seconds here or there. He has to be really interested in something so he forgets he's standing. It's pretty funny.

Look Mom, one hand!
He was so proud of himself up there. He got up all by himself without smacking his head on the glass lol. One in a row!
It was getting close to bed time and Jaxson was being really grumpy. He didn't want me to sit down or put him down or anything. He loves looking out the window so that helped him relax enough to fall asleep.
This is the proud face of a kid who crawled over to his dad and stood up all on his own!
I love love LOVE this kid's smile!!
This was SO funny! I gave Jax some of my sherbet and he decided he wanted all of it lol. I tried to take it away but he had other plans... lol

Halloween Party Pictures
Mike and I had such a fun time for Halloween this year. Last year I was all pregnant and didn't want to go all out since the costume I wore was probably only going to fit one year (I usually reuse them) so we just did some family stuff and handed out candy. This year we decided to get a babysitter and have a party! OMG I had such a good time! Here are some pics:
Mike and I were referees this year. I like to match every year just like most chicks lol. Man I just LOVE my husband! Isn't he dreamy?? (don't answer that... lol)
Here I am with Courtney (left) and Mikell. Don't let the picture fool you, Mikell is a shrimp just like Court and me she just had some super hot boots on :)

Mikell and my new black friend Charles who went as a white guy for Halloween lol. Best part is, that's not his real hair but it totally looks like it lol. I love that he lets me call him names that would probably offend normal people. He's proud to be my only black friend since Kateva in elementary lol. It's really not my fault people, I do live in Utah after all... I think Charles is the 10th black person I've ever seen in real life... haha jk

Mom and Jax

Jaxson and I went to Walmart to grab some stuff for the Halloween party tonight. We went with our friend Angie who snapped a cute pic in the checkout line. Jaxson ADORES her! He just smiles at her and loves her. I'm so freaking thankful to have this kid as my own. He's such a good kid in just about every way. Mike and I sure do love this little guy!

New Stuff With Jax
Jaxson has learned so many new things lately. He is officially crawling on his hands and knees. He did it for the first time last Friday night. It was so fun because I was actually home alone with Jaxson when he did it. I totally got to be there! I've missed a lot of his "firsts" because I work full time so it was so nice to be able to enjoy that moment. I got it on video on my cell phone. If I can figure out how to upload it I will. So other than crawling, Jaxson has started pulling himself up to everything lol. He's so proud of himself when he gets up there that he grins from ear to ear as you can see lol

High School Memories

This post is 100% for me to brag lol. I decided to go through my stored clothes over the weekend and get rid of everything I didn't need or wouldn't wear. In the process I found a bunch of clothes I haven't been able to wear for a long time. I found tons of t-shirts and jackets and stuff like that. I was so excited when I found these shorts I bought back in high school. Even when I bought them they didn't fit as well as they do now. I was so shocked when I could do them up and not look all lumpy in them that I had to get proof! I just know by the time next summer is here I won't be able to wear them anymore anyway lol. Well that's really all I have. Feel free to compliment me since that's kinda the reason I posted these anyway LOL! At least I'm honest, right?

More Pictures!
Things are going great in the Colletti house, especially since my last post. I'm so freaking excited to be home more with Jaxson!
Mike sent me these pictures the other day and I never posted them. Here's Jaxson taking a bath in the sink. He cracks me up

Poor baby! Jaxson is learning to crawl and all that so naturally he's not too stable. He was crawling in our hallway and lost his balance and fell over and hit his head on the vent cover thing that was only on halfway. He scraped his head and bruised it a little. This pictures we have of his cut looks soooooo much worse than what it actually is but still... it was very upsetting for all of us lol.
