Mom and Jax

Jaxson and I went to Walmart to grab some stuff for the Halloween party tonight. We went with our friend Angie who snapped a cute pic in the checkout line. Jaxson ADORES her! He just smiles at her and loves her. I'm so freaking thankful to have this kid as my own. He's such a good kid in just about every way. Mike and I sure do love this little guy!

New Stuff With Jax

Jaxson has learned so many new things lately. He is officially crawling on his hands and knees. He did it for the first time last Friday night. It was so fun because I was actually home alone with Jaxson when he did it. I totally got to be there! I've missed a lot of his "firsts" because I work full time so it was so nice to be able to enjoy that moment. I got it on video on my cell phone. If I can figure out how to upload it I will. So other than crawling, Jaxson has started pulling himself up to everything lol. He's so proud of himself when he gets up there that he grins from ear to ear as you can see lol

These next pictures are when I gave Jaxson some of my pixi stix haha! He made some awesome faces but in the end I think he liked it.

Jax crawls all over the place now. If we don't watch him closely we find him somewhere like this lol.

High School Memories

This post is 100% for me to brag lol. I decided to go through my stored clothes over the weekend and get rid of everything I didn't need or wouldn't wear. In the process I found a bunch of clothes I haven't been able to wear for a long time. I found tons of t-shirts and jackets and stuff like that. I was so excited when I found these shorts I bought back in high school. Even when I bought them they didn't fit as well as they do now. I was so shocked when I could do them up and not look all lumpy in them that I had to get proof! I just know by the time next summer is here I won't be able to wear them anymore anyway lol. Well that's really all I have. Feel free to compliment me since that's kinda the reason I posted these anyway LOL! At least I'm honest, right?

More Pictures!

Things are going great in the Colletti house, especially since my last post. I'm so freaking excited to be home more with Jaxson!

Mike sent me these pictures the other day and I never posted them. Here's Jaxson taking a bath in the sink. He cracks me up

Poor baby! Jaxson is learning to crawl and all that so naturally he's not too stable. He was crawling in our hallway and lost his balance and fell over and hit his head on the vent cover thing that was only on halfway. He scraped his head and bruised it a little. This pictures we have of his cut looks soooooo much worse than what it actually is but still... it was very upsetting for all of us lol.

Nice face dude lol
I got this adorable skeleton costume from my older sister Amanda. She has 2 boys that are 5 and 3 and this used to belong to the 5 year old Dyson. He wore it his first Halloween. Jax is running low on PJs and all that so I put him in this. Hey whatever works right??

Awe.... such a cute kid!

This kid is cool like his dad. Man, I can't get enough of my guys!

I'm so excited!!

I'm so excited!! Ok so I have good news. Matt's GF Taylor's brother (lol) works in construction and knows how to do all that stuff. He came over last night and looked at our basement. He's going to finish the basement for us! I'm so excited! Matt still owes us like 750 bucks and was planning to pay us back next month but instead we decided that he could just pay the cost to finish the basement up to 750. Most likely it won't cost that much. Ok so there's more good news! We're finishing the basement to be a 2nd master suite that Mike and I will live in. Once we move down there we're renting the other master out to my friend Tina and her daughter. Since they'll be paying half the house and utilities while they live there and Mike is working again, I will FINALLY be able to be at home with Jaxson!!! I'll probably work part time for my sanity lol but I really won't have to if I don't want to! OMG I can't even tell you how excited I am to finally be Mom. It's sad to say that I have been a night and weekend mom for about 6 months now and it suuuuuucks. I'm so glad I finally get to take care of Jaxson and be there to see all the new things he does. I'm sure you'll hear more about this from me as it happens. HECK YES!!!

Swine Flu Prevention Tips

Swine Flu is everywhere now and we all need to be as careful as possible. I hope these tips help!

H1N1 - SWINE FLU TIPS...

Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist)having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital , Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorialetc.

Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W).

The following message given by him, I feel makes a lot of sense and is important for all of you to know.

The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible not coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection,in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted inmost official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one.Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti(very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm saltwater is very effective in bringing down viral population.*

5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

6.* Drink as much of warm liquids as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

Pics of Jax

Here are some recent pictures of Jaxson. He's starting to pull himself up to things now. We got a few cute pictures of him holding on the side of the crib. He was so proud of himself and to be honest, so were we!

Man, I love this kid!!
Here's Jaxson sitting in his high chair. It's kind of a battle every time I feed him baby food because all he wants to do is put his fingers in his mouth after I put a bite of food in. Every time he does it I have to say no and move his hand and he gets so mad at me! He yells or grunts or cries at me til I give him more food... but then he puts his hands in his mouth and we start over again lol. It's pretty funny to watch him try to get his way. Too bad he has no idea yet how stubborn his mom really is... lol

Mike took these pictures this morning. I just got Jaxson out of bed before I had to leave for work. You can tell by the look on his face that he wasn't quite awake yet :)

Love this kid!!!

Day at the Zoo

Last weekend Mike and I decided to go to the zoo with some friends. Mike has never been the the Hogle zoo so it was really fun to show him around lol. I've lived in UT my whole life and that's really the only zoo I've been to. I have so many fun childhood memories thanks to that zoo. I was excited to take Jaxson too. He looked at the animals that we could get close to or anything that moved in front of him. I think in general he wasn't really too interested lol. He loved the walk though. Mike took a lot of pictures. This first one is so freaking adorable. He's just such a happy kid!

So cute!!

Me and Jaxson in front of the elephants. You can see one in the background.

They used to only have a big male gorilla to stand next to but now they have infant, child, and female too. Jax looked so freaking cute standing up there!

Jax was staring at a little girl that was sitting on the trunk. The thing started making noise... weird.

Close up!

Jax trying to steal Dad's phone. Good luck kid, I've been trying for almost a year now lol

Momma and baby elephant. The baby was so cute and clumsy.

Jax looks bald...

Rhinos!!!

They have this scale for you to stand on to see how much you weigh compared to animals and stuff. Mike and I stood on there with Jax and the stroller and everything and we still only hit what a newborn elephant weighs lol

We had so much fun at the zoo. We talked about getting a season pass in a year or two when Jaxson is old enough to enjoy all of it.
